Tehran- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday that he will soon send a message to the American nation. "I have already prepared a message to the American nation and will soon send it out," Ahmadinejad said in a press conference in Tehran.
He did not say when and through which channel he will send the message but claimed that the American people had asked him to explain the Iranian standpoints to them.
"We clearly distinguish between the American people and the American government and believe that the US administration has also severely damaged the image of Americans worldwide," the president said.
Ahmadinejad's predecessor, Mohammad Khatami, had also sent a message in 1998 to the American people through the television network CNN which, however, did not lead to any improvement of bilateral ties.
