I know on the surface this essay (http://www.foreignaffairs.org/20070901faessay86501/rudolph-giuliani/toward-a-realistic-peace.html) of Giuliani's seems like an innocuous development, but I am concerned about the propaganda power of the Weekly Standard's recently coined phrase, "The 9/11 Generation (http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/013/904pffgs.asp)." It was immediately picked up by the neocon media and proliferated. Michelle Malkin used it (http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=4&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmichellemalkin.com%2F2007%2F07%2F 21%2Fthe-911-generation%2F&ei=4urERvW3OpyMgwLsstiFDA&usg=AFQjCNEYBzTyqhXLcpa4AeaLyXXkMiQS4g&sig2=OpuptY0xYMxtbPVfipXBmA), CBS News used it (http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=5&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cbsnews.com%2Fstories%2F2007% 2F07%2F23%2Fopinion%2Fmain3088280.shtml&ei=4urERvW3OpyMgwLsstiFDA&usg=AFQjCNGfTdY_nV1GolKklbTB0zbzc02B4g&sig2=FiLmyYCMW9hi8zOONe2Bbw), Newsday did too (http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=15&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.newsday.com%2Fnews%2Flocal%2F newyork%2Fny-p2cov232849590sep05%2C0%2C316250.story&ei=VOvERpDIJ6GSggLCsan6Cw&usg=AFQjCNG6mkK1wir7gNIOeSaFzTzOeIc-BA&sig2=rjCDIQN_cEjJo53STMD2_A).

Clearly, this is the new "Global War on Terror." They are transforming a war that has no specific enemy, that was started on false pretenses, and that has no end, into a form of Just War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just_war), a noble pursuit that defines American youth. The idea behind the 9/11 Generation is not only that the bogus War on Terror will be a generational conflict, but also that those who fought in what the neocons will call "the 9/11 Wars" will later become important statesmen.

Giuliani, in his piece for Foreign Affairs, begins with one of those lines Goebbels could have written, for its generic but expansive propagandistic force: "We are all members of the 9/11 generation." Note how the neocon shaping of our reality will become our reality if this slogan gets him elected.

I've heard about that article. Giuliani also says our nation should be tougher on the Palestinians and bomb Iranian nuclear sites if necessary.

Guiliani, I don't think will win though. He's got some serious issues with major flip flopping he has to deal with. And by major I mean 2 different people major.

Said as a mayor that illigals are welcome in NY and that immigration is immpossible to enforce and would hurt this country. Now says he will end illegal immigration and this and that.

Also switched on gay rights and so forth.

The neocon media are trying their hardest to make Giuliani the man. That usually matters more than what "the people" think. Look what the media do to populist politicians like Dean and Paul.

What concerned me more here was the clear beginning of a new phase of propaganda: the "9/11 Generation" phase. That will make 9/11 Truth even harder to accomplish.

Yeah, since one could argue Rudy had a role/part in 9/11 with those wargames and Rudy being told the towers were going to collapse. And if not that, being a staunch Bush supporter.
