Washington: In a candid claim, former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds on Friday said that the terms shared by US with al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden and Taliban were ‘intimate’.
“With those groups (al Qaeda and Taliban), we had operations in Central Asia, and that relationship - using them as we did during the Afghan and Soviet conflict - we used them all the way until September 11”, former Turkish language translator said on the radio program, Mike Malloy Show.
Edmonds further questioned, “What we have been doing, what we were doing in those years, all the way, all the way until that day of September 11, in Central Asia, in what they call East Turkistan where we are talking about the Uighurs, and with Bin Laden, via Turkey.”
The American Civil Liberties Union had described Edmonds as the "most gagged" woman in the history of the US, claiming the Bush administration used ‘State Secrets Privilege’ to keep her mum from exposing corruption she faced while working as a translator at the FBI after 9/11.
