Not sure if this is the right forum for this, so move it if it needs to be. I looked for some type of political forum. Thought sticky budz might be a good place since most of congress appears to be stoned.

The Root
Thoreau--"For every thousand hacking at the branches...there is one striking at the root." The one giving directions to the "high road".
There now appears to be a large group of individuals on planet earth that have come to realize something is not right with the way human societies interact. They have realized that human interaction regularly results in abuse and destruction of people and all that surrounds them. The list of examples is endless; just read the headings of any news media and you get an inkling of the breadth and scope of the problem. The list of groups trying to resolve these problems is almost as long as the list of problems itself. Although large numbers of people are actively trying to resolve individual problems they never seem to get anywhere. New problems keep surfacing faster than old problems are resolved.
Why do things continue to go downhill with so many trying to set things right?
Describing the human condition as a root lends some insight. In plants growth occurs from root stocks, if you desire to destroy a plant you will not accomplish this by just destroying the foliage or fruit, if you leave the root behind very soon you have a new replacement plant. You can prune a plant forever and it will continue to grow larger and healthier from your attention as long as the root is undisturbed. The same phenomena explains why no amount of activism is putting a dint in humanity’s ever growing survival crisis. Almost all activists are hacking at the branches and not digging up the root.
To attack “the root” of human suffering one must first find the root.
What is the root that allows all the horrendous abuses to occur that are detailed at the following sample news sites? http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/ http://www.cnn.com/ http://rense.com/ http://news.bbc.co.uk/ http://informationclearinghouse.info/ http://www.indymedia.org/ It doesn’t matter which news stories you choose to believe because they all result from a common root. What is it?
In stories related to human endeavors or problems you will find one common denominator, “power”. Every single story about human suffering originates in abuse of power. Whether it is the USA forcing it’s will on the Iraqi people, or an automobile manufacturer supplying unsafe vehicles for economic reasons or governments ignoring the environmental concerns of common people, or someone raping or mugging someone else or inside investors making a killing or pedophile priests abusing their position, ALL these stories originate in someone abusing a position of power to damage someone else.
So? Is power the root?
I think “power” gives the root a bit of definition but it is not the root itself, we have to dig a little further yet to find the root.
What is the way most of humanity is taught to achieve power? Can we equate wealth with power? I cannot think of a single instance where someone without wealth or the backing of wealth has power in the world of human affairs. Personal power is something completely different and is irrelevant to this discussion.
So? Is wealth the root?
I think “wealth” gives the root a bit more definition but it is not the root itself, we have to dig a little further yet to find the root.
What is needed to accumulate wealth? Money allows you to buy almost anything you desire, can money be equated to wealth and power? Do you know of anyone that has wealth and power that doesn’t utilize money to achieve or maintain wealth and power?
So? Is money the root?
I think “money” gives the root still more definition but it is not the root itself, we have to dig a little further yet to find the root.
What is money? Today it is mostly paper or electrons without anything of physical value linked to it. It is simply an Iou with no assets attached.
Where does money come from? Central Banks create money out of nothing for the cost of printing the paper or recording the electrons and charge humanity for using the money they create. Central Banks do NOT need security or collateral to secure the value of the money they print, it is created out of thin air and is nothing but an Iou. Consider… if you could legally print all the money or Ious you wanted for yourself what would it give you?
So? Are Central Banks the root?
I think “Central Banks” give the root still more definition but they are not the root itself, we have to dig a little further yet to find the root.
“The Federal Reserve” is the Central Bank of the USA, who controls it? Is it the American government (people)? No… The Federal Reserve is owned and controlled without audit by a group of private International Bankers. Most if not all Central Banks in the world follow this model, the banks are not owned or controlled by the countries who’s currencies they create and regulate. Central Banks go to great lengths to hide this fact.
So? Are International Bankers the root?
Yes, I think we have finally arrived at the root.
The International Bankers are the only humans who do not need to earn money with goods and/or services, they can simply print up as much money as they need. History has shown over and over that even Kings and Queens must bow at the feet of bankers because unlimited money has the power to destroy them. This is the power (root) that the plant of human misery flourishes from.
You can easily see how abuse occurs at all levels of the human plant but all power originates from and is controlled by the place of maximum power (the root).
Lord Acton, "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely"
Follow the money.
I posed the following question on a forum in which I participate. Do you think there are enough people aware of and concerned about the human condition to bring about change IF they all worked together to destroy the root instead of most of them hacking away at the branches? What do you think?
