Assad doubts existence of al-Qaeda
KUWAIT CITY (AP) - Syrian President Bashar Assad said in an interview published Sunday that he doubts the existence of al-Qaeda, the terror group blamed for the Sept. 11 attacks and recent strikes in Saudi Arabia and Morocco.

"Is there really an entity called al-Qaeda? Was it in Afghanistan? Does it exist now?" Assad asked, according to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Anba.

Such speculation is popular among some in the Arab world who say Washington has manufactured or exaggerated the threat posed by al-Qaeda in order to paint Muslims as dangerous.

«Countries facing the al-Qaeda threat are awaiting the intelligence Turkish security is to provide. Amid the smoke from the fortuitous fire emerged the possibility that al-Qaeda may not be, strictly speaking, an organization but an element of an intelligence agency operation.

Turkish intelligence specialists agree that there is no such organization as al-Qaeda.

Rather, Al-Qaeda is the name of a secret service operation. The concept “fighting terror” is the background of the “low-intensity-warfare” conducted in the mono-polar world order. The subject of this strategy of tension is named as “al-Qaeda.” »

There is no Terrorist Organization Called Al Qaida

…Nese Düzel from Radikal (a Turkish newspaper) asked this question and more on Al Qaida to Mahir Kaynak, a former academic and a former intelligence officer. He has suggested different and debateful views, which will be summarized in this article.

Further more he argued that there is no Al Qaida. According to Kaynak, Al Qaida is the name of the operation carried out by an intelligence service, which is CIA…With this operation an anti-Islam front among the peoples of the world is tried to be created.

The Power of Nightmares seeks to overturn much of what is widely believed about Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida.

The latter, it argues, is not an organised international network.

It does not have members or a leader.
It does not have "sleeper cells".
It does not have an overall strategy.
In fact, it barely exists at all, except as an idea about cleansing a corrupt world through religious violence.

«Al Qaeda does not exist and never has»

«The basic truth is that Al Qaeda does not exist and never has. Al Qaeda is a manufactured enemy who was created by the Bush Administration in order to have an excuse to wage a war for the control of the world"s oil resources.»

http://www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/uriks/article396241.ece

- Al-Qaida er en amerikansk fiksjon

Terrororganisasjonen Al-Qaida er noe USA har
funnet på, mener den omstridte fredsforskeren
Johan Galtung.

- Etter min vurdering er al-Qaida noe Washington
har funnet på, en typisk Pentagon-projeksjon,
sier Galtung.

''Al-Qaida is not an organization anymore, it is
a concept,'' said Jordanian political analyst Labib Kamhawi.
''There is a lot of appeal for the concept itself.''»

«''On balance, I would be surprised if there wasn't any
foreign participation,'' he said. ''Al-Qaida does not have
membership cards, and as such, linkages can occur
on many different levels.''

It was not Prime Minister Tony Blair but Metropolitan Police Commissioner Ian Blair
who was quoted to have said "Al Qaeda is not an organization. "

Al-Qaeda is the CIA file name given to the rebels that fought the Russians in the Afghan war from 1980 to 1989. They were led by Osama back then and financed by CIA black ops programs and Saudi Oil money. After the war ended the US had no one left to justify increased military spending due to a percieved threat. Sales of arms decreased and Al-Qaeda was re-created to justify a worldwide terrorism threat and increased spending. As of today there is more then a trillion dollars unaccounted for in the Pentagon. This money (some) went to programs to create a threat. Mercenaries were hired (mostly Arab) and were told that the would be fighting America who is the great satan and the threat to Muslims.

Our enemy was created by the Neo-Cons and to this day continues to kill American soldiers and innocent Iraqis that are clueless to this clever scheme. It is war with no end. It is a fact that the Oil/Natural Gas in the Caspian Sea is worth somewhere between 1 and 2 trillion dollars maybe more. To get that N.G. to India to supply the one of the largest powerplants in the world required a pipeline that crossed Afghanistan. The Taliban Govt negotiated with the US Govt reps over this pipeline from 1998 through 2000 and required too much in return and was told that it would go through one way or the other. How convenient that Osama just happened to live in a cave there on 911.

It was a creation of the neocons. http://www.dahrjamailiraq.com (http://www.dahrjamailiraq.com/)
Iraq Dispatches Digest, Vol 17, Issue 7.

Excerpt from the above article:

One of the characterizations of neocons today is that they are neo-Jacobins-philosophically, this idea that people are the same, all want the same thing, and should have the same thing. That 'same thing' in a modern neoconservative view is this idea of 'democracy.' But is it really democracy that they want, or is democracy simply a trojan horse?

Certainly for Iraq, George Bush has been left with one story as to why we went in. If they had democracy, they'd take a vote, and we'd be kicked out of there immediately.

Certainly we don't want them to have democracy, because then they'll make us leave. So it's unclear that democracy is a goal, but that's what they talk about: the God of Democracy. So it's not like Trotskyism in the sense that they're not advocating global communism but they are advocating universal, radical-and in effect, catastrophic-change. And this is kind of a clear thread for many years.

So the neoconservatives are not new; during the Reagan era, the 'Cold War' was their vehicle for credibility-this evil enemy that we must face, or else the end of the world is coming. They cannot work without this global enemy, almost a kind of class warfare. You can't just have a mere enemy; it has to be a monstrous enemy, something that can destroy us. They've found that in, or rather cultivated it, in what is called 'Islamic Fascism.' Unfortunately this doesn't exist. No one advocates it. No one articulates it.
Islamic Fascism is a made up thing. . But it doesn't matter: what matters is that it's useful in generating fear, and serves that same larger purpose-providing a platform from which to operate. Now you can follow the money too.

This global enemy-'Islamic fascism,' 'Islamic terrorism,' or whatever it is-enables war in the Mideast. (Which doesn't really exist) So the 'grand plan' is a Mideast transformation plan, which guys like Michael Ledeen have been talking about for a long time. Since we have this apocalyptic enemy, it's either us or them. So in Iraq: the money goes for 'security'-American bases, and police power to defend those bases. The things we've destroyed we have not rebuilt or fixed. (nor does Bush intend to fix)

The whole idea with Iraq was to destroy Iraq. It was not to rebuild it, turn it into a democracy. It was simply to take a country that had no navy, no airforce, and a very small-you know-fourth rate army and turn it into a country with no navy, no airforce, and no army. We did this, and OSP did its part in promoting that. Once it was done there was no need for OSP.

Of course, it wasn't the Neo-Cons (or 'crazies' as they were called in the 80s) who started funding the radical Islamists movement, it was Jimmy 'Human Rights' Carter - who's stated aim was to 'give the Russians their own Vietnam'.

It's easy to pin the blame on this or that section of the ruling class (right now 'neo-cons'), but in doing so, one misses the overall point - that is, that the capitalist ruling class is, and has been for the last 200 years or so, at war with the vast majority of the people of this world. They scream about the dangers of 'class war' (when such a threat comes from below), but they have never not been engaged in class war.

I don't think it's more 'the system' than the neo-cons. The neo-cons were out of power in 98 when the embassies were bombed.

then what were those trainning camps in Afghanistan? From the war in 80-89. Remember that the remnants of the Taliban are the freedom fighters in Afghan. Once Russia collapsed and had to back off from Afghan, the Free.Ftrs were still unsure whether they had won or Russia would be back so training camps were a nescessary part of warfare even after it was over

Well of course I knew that, everyone knows that. I'm saying if al-Qaeda doesn't really exist and is a creation of the CIA, then what were those trainning camps run by bin Laden up until the invasion? Ya know, the camps they show on tv all the time where dudes practice warfare. Those were run by al-Qaeda.

They don't call themselves Al Qaeda, Al Qaeda is a government database of known or suspected terrorists. Its nothing but propaganda at this point. If any one of us gets picked up at a demonstration or 9/11 freedom march or something like that, under the Patriot Act we are suspected terrorists, and therefore we are suspected of being part of Al Qaeda.

Just government propaganda to label everyone who dares disagree with them as belonging to that big bad group of boogeymen that hate America's freedoms.

The way I know it, al-Qaeda, which means 'the base', was the name used by bin Laden and his mentor to keep track of fighters coming in and out of Afghanistan to fight the Soviets. Around 10 years later when he returned to fight the American's, they had no name, they didn't call themselves anything. Then after 9/11 they were labeled as al-Qaeda because it was easy.

What makes you think that those camps are recent. They could be from the 80's and early 90's. Please don't trust your TV for anything truthful. Keep an open mind, and look at who benefits. CNN was recently kicked out of Iran for completely misinterpreting a speech of the Iranian ambassador. I personally saw CNN give a complete redaction of what Iran accused them of. Watch the video of Bush introducing Porter Goss as the new director of the CIA. In it Bush says Goss will lead the way in the hunt for Bin Laden and you can watch Goss laughing in the background.

Just by looking at the trainning videos you can tell they were made at least in the 90's or early 2000. Journalists and media have even visited these camps. There's video of bin Laden walking around these camps and giving speeches. So those camps are real.

And Porter Goss laughing as Bush talks about the hunt for bin Laden is something that sounds intersting. I'd love to see a video of that.

The last Bin Laden video was determined to be fake. The man in the video had severaL facial features that were different. Whenever Bush poll numbers drop some type of new video or audio from some Al-CIAda just happens to find its way on national scene. Don't fall for their games. Remeber 90% of the general public is fairly sheepish. They believe whatever the 26" TV tells them.

I know some of the tapes were fake, I made a thread about that 1-2 weeks ago. But those vidoes of al-Qaeda training in the 90's or early 2000, no one can question that, if so I'd like to see the proof.
