Eh? It occurred to me that if you have one, you can enter places that only allow the press, and ask questions. Except, I don't know how to get one.

Do like the three stooges did, find an object that has the word "PRESS" embossed on it. Then wear it to where ever you go to ask questions. Just show them the object and say, "I'm with the press." Always worked for them.

If it's like $200 or something, I'd get one.

Yo probably have to be a member of the journalists union (here its the NUJ, which I am entitled to membership in!), or hold some kind of recognised qualification in journalism, or work for a newspaper.
I doubt you can get one just by asking though, even if you do run a website.

Couldn't you start a fake corporation called "YBBS News", and apply for a press pass through the corporation?

Hmm... This might be of some use http://www.offshore-manual.com/PressPass.html - but I wouldn't trust it.
After looking around a bit, it seems that in the US, press passes are generally issued for INDIVIDUAL EVENTS, and are based on your 'legitimacy' (proof of necessity, proof of cedentials, employment etc) - unlike in the UK and Ireland where you can - if you are NUJ accreditted - apply to the NUJ who issue a universal press pass - and its accepted in most EU countries as well as the UK & Ireland.

That looks good... looks almost too good to be true! They say its FREE.
But again, I'd be wary, because promoters etc can still turn you away if they desire. Still, if its really free then GO FOR IT!
Nice find.

If you want a press pass without having the qualifications your gonna have to take one for the team and bang with someone inside the White House. Scott McCocksucker perhaps?

Yeah, gold, without the backing of a news company, you might just have to put out. I think the problem is that ybbs has four letters, not three (ABC, NBC, FOX, UPN).
