Operation Iraqi Liberation

That was the original name of the Iraqi operation.

Then it was changed to "Operation Iraqi Freedom".

Why do you think they changed it?
 
Because Operation Iraqi Liberation was supposed to be the defeat of the Iraqi army, so once that objective had been achieved, they changed the name. The objective then became setting up a democratic government so the Iraqis would have "Freedom" and democracy.

Just my guess.

Operation Iraqi Liberation, I get it now. I'm watching Behind every terrorist is a Bush.
 
Actually gold, I tell this to people here at my office all the time.

It gets them thinking.
 
Seriously, if it wasn't about OIL, then they would have had no problem with the original name... unless it WAS about OIL...
 
I'm sure it was an inside joke to them, until someone else figured out the joke.
